Safety Is Not a Disclaimer. It Is How We Work.
Waco Bounce House Rentals takes inflatable safety seriously at every step - from how we maintain the equipment to how we set it up at your event. Most bounce house accidents are preventable. Supervision, age-appropriate grouping, and a few simple rules are all it takes to keep the fun going and the kids safe.
Every delivery includes a full in-person safety briefing. You will sign and initial the safety rules, which makes you the trained operator for your event. The video above covers the same basics - watch it with your kids ahead of time so they already know what to expect when the inflatable is set up and ready to go. Before the Party Starts - Parent Checklist
Run through these before you let the kids in. Takes two minutes. Prevents a bad day.
The Rules That Keep Every Party Safe
Inside the Inflatable
- No flipping, somersaults, or roughhousing.
- No pushing, shoving, or piling on other kids.
- No climbing the walls, netting, or roof of the unit.
- Exit one at a time through the designated exit. Do not run or jump near the opening.
- Stay toward the center - keep away from the walls and seams.
- Never bounce on the entrance ramp or slide.
Who Goes In - and How Many
- Group kids by age and size. Toddlers and big kids do not mix in the same session.
- Follow the capacity listed in your rental agreement. More kids does not mean more fun - it means more risk.
- Adults should not enter the inflatable unless it is specifically rated for adult use. Their weight distribution changes how the unit handles.
- Children under 2 should not use standard inflatables. Ask about toddler inflatable rentals designed for little ones.
Weather - the Rule That Matters Most
- Clear all riders from the inflatable when winds reach 15 mph or higher.
- Unplug the blower immediately during lightning or severe weather. Do not wait.
- Do not allow anyone back in until weather has fully cleared and the unit is re-inspected.
- Do not try to hold the unit down in high wind. Unplug, clear the area, and call us at (254) 870-8078.
- Central Texas summer afternoons can produce fast-moving storms. Check the forecast and keep an eye on the sky throughout the event.
The Blower and Power
- The blower must stay on for the entire rental. Inflatables deflate the moment power is cut.
- Never toggle the blower on and off repeatedly - this strains the motor.
- Do not run the blower cord under rugs, mats, or through doorways where it could get pinched or tripped over.
- Extension cords must be 10-gauge and no longer than 125 feet. Undersized cords cause overheating.
- If the inflatable deflates during use, clear all riders immediately and call us before attempting to troubleshoot.
Water Slide Rules - Extra Rules for Wet Fun
Inflatable water slide rentals add a wet surface to the equation. Wet vinyl is slippery. That changes the game slightly - here is what matters most.
- Slide feet-first, on your back or seated. No head-first slides.
- One rider on the slide at a time. Do not stack or push.
- Wait at the top until the previous rider has cleared the splash pool and moved away from the landing zone.
- Keep the water running while the slide is in use - a dry lane on a wet slide is dangerous.
- No jumping or diving at the bottom of the slide.
- No glass near the splash pool area.
- Never spray water on a dry bounce house - even accidental water on a dry unit makes surfaces extremely slippery and can cause falls.

How Waco Bounce House Rentals Keeps Equipment Safe
Cleaned and Sanitized After Every Rental
Every inflatable is cleaned and disinfected between every rental - not just when it looks dirty. Equipment arrives at your event ready, not recycled from the last party without a wash. If anything looks off when we deliver, call us on the spot and we will address it before anyone gets in.
Annual TDI Inspections on All Rides
All carnival rides and mechanical rides in the Waco Bounce House Rentals fleet are inspected annually under the Texas Department of Insurance Amusement Ride Safety Inspection and Insurance Act. Every ride is built from commercial-grade, fire-retardant vinyl. Inspection documentation is available upon request.
Standard inflatables - bounce houses, combo bouncers, water slides, and obstacle courses - are commercial-grade units built to industry safety standards and maintained to those standards through regular inspection by our team.
In-Person Safety Briefing at Every Delivery
Our delivery crew does not drop the equipment and leave. They walk through the setup, explain the rules, and have the responsible party sign and initial the full safety agreement. You leave that briefing as the trained operator for the event - which means you know exactly what to do if anything comes up.
Fully Insured
Waco Bounce House Rentals carries full commercial liability insurance. This is standard for a professional party rental operation and protects both the business and the customers we serve. Certificate of insurance is available on request for venues, schools, and corporate clients that require it.
Bounce House Safety - Common Questions
How many kids can be in a bounce house at one time?
Capacity depends on the specific unit and the age of the participants. Smaller children take up less space and exert less force than older kids. Every Waco Bounce House Rentals unit has a capacity listed in the rental agreement. A good rule of thumb: when in doubt, rotate kids in smaller groups rather than packing the unit. Safe is always more fun than an emergency.
What should kids wear in a bounce house?
Socks are the ideal footwear - they provide grip without the hard soles that can damage vinyl and hurt other kids. No shoes, no cleats, no sandals. Remove glasses, hair accessories with hard clips, and any jewelry or accessories with sharp edges. Loose-fitting athletic clothes work best and reduce the chance of anything catching on the netting or seams.
What do I do if the bounce house starts to deflate during my event?
Clear all riders immediately and calmly. Check that the blower is still plugged in and running - a tripped breaker or a kicked plug is the most common cause. If the blower is running and the unit is still deflating, there may be a seam issue. Call Waco Bounce House Rentals at (254) 870-8078 right away. Do not attempt to reinflate a unit with riders inside or with visible damage to the seams.
Is it safe to use a bounce house in summer heat in Waco?
Yes, with common sense. Central Texas summers are hot. Keep kids rotating in and out rather than bouncing for long continuous stretches. Make sure there is shade and cold water nearby. The inside of an inflatable can get warm - take breaks. If you want wet and cool, consider a water slide rental or a combo bounce house rental with a water slide attached.
Are water slide rentals safe for younger kids?
Many water slides in the Waco Bounce House Rentals fleet are appropriate for kids 5 and up. Larger slides - 20 feet and taller - are better suited for older kids and adults. Check each product page for the recommended age range. For the youngest guests, look at toddler inflatables designed for younger kids.
What happens if it gets windy during our event?
At 15 mph or higher, clear all riders and unplug the blower. Do not wait to see how bad it gets - wind can lift an inflatable quickly and without much warning. Most inflatables are staked into grass by the delivery crew, but stakes are not a substitute for proper wind monitoring. Call us at (254) 870-8078 if you are unsure about conditions. The full amusement rental safety tips page covers weather policy in detail.
